In a conversation, Janardhan emphasizes the appeal of "clean" comedies in attracting a wider audience, suggesting that comedy offers a lighter viewing experience where viewers can unwind and enjoy the film without much strain. He aims to create a film like Powder that offers a relaxing and rewatchable experience, regardless of familiarity with the plot.
Expressing appreciation for the ensemble cast of Powder, Janardhan values the opportunity to work with a diverse and skilled lineup of actors. By giving each character a well-defined arc and weaving their experience into the narrative, he aims to maximize the talents of the cast and extract comedic brilliance from each one. Janardhan stresses the importance of quality over quantity, ensuring that each character contributes meaningfully to the overall comedic tone of the film. While comedy is not my strong suit, I excel in writing thrillers. I find that ideas come more naturally to me when I am working on a crime thriller. Switching from a serious genre to comedy was challenging for me. Comedy offers a wide range of opportunities for experimentation, and I have put forth my best effort in exploring this genre.
